These terms cover your use of cropshrink.com. They are deliberately short, because CropShrink is a free tool that takes nothing from you: no account, no payment, and no files.

What CropShrink is

CropShrink is a free, browser-based image editor that crops, resizes and compresses images on your own device. Using it means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Your images remain yours

We claim no rights of any kind over the images you edit. We never receive them, so there is nothing for us to claim, license, store or use. You are responsible for having the right to edit the images you open, and for what you do with the results.

Acceptable use

Use CropShrink for anything lawful. Do not use it to process material that is illegal to possess or distribute, and do not attempt to disrupt the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or use automated means to overload it. Because processing happens on your own device, the only shared resource is the delivery of the page itself.

Service limits

The editor accepts images up to 60 megapixels and produces outputs up to 40 megapixels, with a maximum of 8192 pixels per side. It handles one image at a time, does not preserve EXIF metadata, and does not retain anything between page loads. Which file formats open depends on your browser. These limits are described on the homepage and may change as the tool develops.

No warranty

CropShrink is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a given image will produce a given result.

Practically: always keep your original file. The editor works on a copy in memory, and an exported image cannot be un-compressed back to its source quality.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, images, profits or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use CropShrink. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Intellectual property

The CropShrink name, interface and code are ours. The Inter typeface is used under the SIL Open Font License. Your images, as above, are yours.

Changes and availability

We may update these terms, change the tool’s features, or stop offering the service at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Because CropShrink stores nothing, there is no data to migrate or export if the service ends.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CropShrink’s operator is established, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
